Desire Intimacy With God
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” (Psalm 42:1-2)
Philip K. Osei
It is the responsibility of every child of God to cultivate an intimate relationship with God. The pursuit of the legitimate business of each day or any other thing, is not superior to developing an intimate relationship with Him. A Christian should not be so busy that his fellowship with God suffers. Get your priorities right. Being busy is not the same as being productive.
As busy as Jesus was, He didn’t allow it to disrupt His fellowship with God. Jesus spent time alone with God daily in prayer. He prayed at different times. He prayed all night and early in the
morning
David says in Psalm 84:2: “My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the Lord. Are you thirsty for the Lord? Does your soul thirst for the Lord as the psalmist says? Or are you lukewarm, apathetic, or in a spiritual slumber?
Beloved, learn to spend time with God. Minister to Him and let Him minister back to you. You must make fellowship with God your most important priority. Moses had an intimate relationship with God. He spoke with him face to face (Numbers 12:8). When you spend enough time with God, you will receive constant revelations from Him, and the power of the Holy Spirit upon your life will increase.
God bless you.
